Beyond Design – What Remains of Design?

WHAT REMAINS OF DESIGN?

Ditre Italia presents “Beyond Design”, a series of culturally driven talks hosted at its prestigious Milan Flagship Store. The initiative aims to explore the creative processes that shape contemporary design, delving into how the virtuous dialogue between different disciplines—from art to sculpture, and design itself—translates into tangible innovation.

Following the success of “Unveiling Worlds”, which featured designer Nika Zupanc and curator Domitilla Dardi, on Wednesday, November 19, the stage of the Ditre Italia Flagship Store in Milan will host Daniele Lo Scalzo Moscheri, architect and Art Director of Ditre Italia, and Nicolas Ballario, curator and cultural commentator, for a dialogue weaving together aesthetics, design, and the culture of living.

“What Remains of Design?”

A light yet ironic reflection on the legacy of design—one that, from Etruscan amphorae to Leonardo, from Brunelleschi to Michelangelo, and on to the masters of the twentieth century, crosses eras and languages while preserving a living humanist tension between function, beauty, and meaning.

A journey between memory and the future, questioning whether design can still tell us who we are—or at least, how we wish to inhabit the world.
